General Description: Matt Rose, a former NASA engineer, cranks out a wide variety of beers on a 1 BBL system. This size, which is decidedly “nano,” usually produces test batches, but allows Rose maximum flexibility and a chance to produce varied and experimental beers. Because Forge does not have a wide distribution, the best way to check out this brewery’s myriad offerings is to visit the tap room.

Flagships:

  • Saison (6.5%) - Fruity notes meld with plum and caramel from the use of candi sugar
  • Slake IPA (7.4%) - Crisp with grapefruit notes from Centennial and Columbus
  • Oatmeal Stout (4.8%) - Chocolate and caramel malts with a Maris Otter base malt with a thick, chewy mouthfeel
  • Roggenbier (5.4%) - German rye beer. Traditional rye spiciness with hints of clove and banana like a hefeweizen
  • Belgian Blonde (7.2%) - “We strip away all the clutter to present our take on this classic.  Brewed with Belgian Pilsen and Abbey malts and fermented with a Belgian yeast strain”
  • Abbey Ale (9%) - Dark strong ale with hints of stone fruit and caramel from candi sugar
  • Petite Saison (3.6%) - A session saison that is light, crisp, and fruity
  • Seaward DIPA (Double India Pale Ale / 10.2%) - “Cascade, Centennial, Chinook and Columbus.  Reminiscent of brews from the Pacific Northwest, this beer contains hints of pine, grapefruit, citrus and spice balanced with a malty body”
