-Dieu du Ciel!/New Belgium- Hemelse God – Sour ale brewed at Dieu du Ciel! with Brettanomyces and spiced with Shezuan peppers
-New Belgium/Kissmeyer- Saison du Poivre – Saison brewed at New Belgium with peppercorns and fermented with saison yeast, Duvel yeast, and Brettanomyces
-Dieu du Ciel!/Kissmeyer- Smoked Baltic Porter – brewed at Dieu du Ciel this malt-forward style shows a delicate roastiness and touch of residual sweetness while the smoke balances nicely with the maple toffee flavors.
In addition to one of the most unique draft lists ever assembled at Smoke and Barrel, there will also be some special guests present. Anders Kissmeyer of Kissmeyer Beer and Brewing, and New Belgium’s Lauren Salazar- Wood Cellar Manager & Blender and Grady Hull- Assistant Brewmaster!
Additional Collaborations Include:
-New Belgium/Brewerij Boon- Transatlantique Kriek- a spontaneously fermented lambic ale fruited with Polish cherries. The beer is then shipped across the Atlantic Ocean and blended with a full-bodied golden lager at New Belgium.
-Dieu du Ciel!/Shiga Kogen- Isseki Nicho – Special collaboration between Dieu du Ciel! and Shiga Kogen, a Japanese brewery located in Nagano. Hybrid of an imperial stout and a Belgian saison, its color is dark black. Strong bitterness and roasted malt flavors come in first, and are well balanced by a strong alcohol level. Dry and complex finishing provided by the saison yeast.
-Kissmeyer/Brasserie Dunham Leo’s Early Breakfast IPA – A collaboration brew between Brasserie Dunham, Canadian brewery located in Quebec, and Andreas Kissmeyer. An IPA hopped with Nelson Sauvin (amongst other hops), and also brewed with Earl Grey tea and guava purée.
-And last but not least, PECHE MORTEL! This marks the first time the world-renowned imperial coffee stout from Dieu du Ciel! will be poured on draft in the District!
