This is a week filled with events officially connected to CBC and events put on by breweries, local and otherwise, in craft beer venues around the area. Cicerone Program Happy Hour  - Meridian Pint - 2pm-4pm
Meridian Pint has four Level 2 Certified Cicerones® on staff and are proud supporters of the program.  Earlier in the day, they're hosting a level 2 exam with spaces still available (www.cicerone.org).  Afterwards, they're opening an hour early for anyone in the DC area that hold at least a Level 1 Certified Beer Server degree.  Come in with some sort of proof of your accomplishment and from 2-4 you can enjoy $2 off all the great beer on tap for the St. Louis Tap Takeover and Beer Dinner with Schlafly, Perennial, and Urban Chestnut.
St. Louis Tap Takeover with Schlafly, Perennial & Urban Chestnut  - Meridian Pint - 3pm-12am
Join brewery founders / brewers Dan Kopman (St. Louis Brewery / Schlafly), Phil Wymore (Perennial Artisan Ales) and Florian Kuplent (Urban Chestnut Brewing Company) for a night of St. Louis craft beer. Urban Chestnut and Perennial are new to DC, and each will provide a handful of drafts while Schlafly, with their diverse portfolio of beers brewed perfectly to style, will fill out the rest of the Pint's draft lines and provide two casks. There is no admission for this event which begins at 3 PM in the basement. A ticketed St. Louis Beer Dinner featuring the same three breweries will take place from 6:30 PM – 10 PM on the main floor, after which that floor will be open to the general public. (Some of the products listed above may not be available until the conclusion of the Beer Dinner). The list:

New England Craft Brew Night - Rustico Ballston - 4pm
Featuring over 30 Delicious Drafts from Maine Beer, Smuttynose, Clown Shoes, Slumbrew, Peak, Otter Creek & Long Trail. Since so many of Rustico's favorite craft brewers will be in the DC area for the 2013 Craft Brewers Conference, they thought it only proper to dedicate nearly every single one of their draft lines during CBC week to one of the most classic, and still most exceptional, craft brewing regions in the USA...New England!  They are tapping at least 35 different drafts from 7 different New England breweries! They will have a keg of Peeper from the red-hot Maine Beer Company, some deliciousness from a couple of young, up-and-coming brewers (Slumbrew & Clown Shoes), a bevy of scarcities from Smuttynose, as well as a host of excellent ales from Peak, Otter Creek/ Wolaver's and Long Trail.

The restaurant is teaming up with Devils Backbone Brewing Company to offer a multi-course beer and sushi pairing.  Executive Sushi Chef Thomas Park and Chief Mixologist Jon Arroyo have created a special menu of sushi tasting plates paired with 5 of the VA brewery's craft beers.  DBBC Brewer & Head Cellarman Aaron Reilly will also be on hand to provide beer tasting notes and details about the brewing process that has made the brewery a regional standout.  Tickets are all-inclusive, $44 per person, through BrownPaper Tickets here or at FarmersFishersBakers.com.
