At Bluejacket, we've long been huge fans of the desserts crafted by NRG Pastry Chef Tiffany MacIsaac; our very own Figure 8 stands as liquid homage to the delicious Figgy Toffee Pudding dessert Tiff created at Birch & Barley a few years back. Naturally, we next gravitated to her amazing doughnut program featured at GBD, and found a slew of flavor inspirations on that menu. So many in fact that we took to brewing 3 different Bluejacket ales inspired by Tiff's doughnuts...On Wednesday, January 22nd at 6pm, we are excited to tap all 3 of these dessert brews:
- Sticky Situation - Inspired by Tiff's Maple Bourbon Bacon Glazed doughnut, this 7% Brown Ale was brewed with 30% Red Apron-smoked malt, spiced with classic curing spices, and infused w/ locally-produced Langdon Wood Barrel-Aged Maple Syrup.
- Nu Order - Based on Tiff's Nutella doughnut, our 9.5% Imperial Brown Ale incorporates house-roasted hazelnuts, a dash of cacao nibs and a touch of sea salt. Rich, creamy and decadent.
- The Dalmatian - Tiff's Dough-Reo doughnut led to this 8.5% blond Barleywine spiked with cacao nibs and vanilla beans. Just like the dougnhnut, this brew is big on flavors of cake, cream and vanilla curd, with an additional, gentle dusting of chocolate...think blonde oreos with a touch of cocoa.
