In 1992 the District of Columbia had gone 36 years without a brewery. Capitol City Brewing on 11th and H Northwest changed that. In 2003 brewing operations moved to the Shirlington neighborhood of Arlington.
Last week, Capitol City Brewing Company announced that Kristi Mathews Griner will take the reins as its new Director of Brewing Operations. With 25 years of restaurant experience, Griner began her brewing career in 2007
Although we're now in the midst of SAVOR Beer Week, which has brought a bunch of brewers from out of town into our fair city, it turns out that one of the DC area's longtime beer producers and venues celebrates a milestone this week.
